How did the major agencies do in today’s Oscar-nomination frenzy? Let’s take a gander. (They just love it when we do this.)
But first, some asterisks:
- These numbers include all categories except best picture. Too many credited producers are still in flux there.
- Some nominees have multiple agencies, usually the Brits. In this case, preference was made to the American agency.
- This count totals the number of nominations, not the individuals. So Jason Reitman counts as two points for WME because he received one nom for directing and one for writing.
- Several nominees have no agency rep, including “Precious” stars Gabourey Sidibe and Mo’Nique, “In the Loop” co-writer Simon Blackwell and “Up” writers Bob Peterson and Pete Docter.
And with that, here we go:
CAA – 28
WME – 12
ICM – 8
UTA – 8
Paradigm – 5
Gersh – 4
